Cornhole tourney benefit for Cindy Roesener planned for Saturday

A multi-activity benefit called “Cornhole for a Cause” is planned for this Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. to raise funds to help offset medical costs for cancer treatments for Cindy Roesener, said Jan Elliott, benefit organizer.
“We’re holding the benefit in the air-conditioned Chase County expo building at the fairgrounds,” Elliott said.
The cornhole tournament has an entry fee of $20 per person.
Raffle tickets for a pair of cornhole boards will be sold for $5 a ticket or five for $20.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Prairie States Communications, or the day of the benefit, Elliott said.
Other activities for the day will be a bake sale, silent auction and free will donation hot dogs.
“Bring your own bags and beverages,” Elliott said, “and alcohol will be permitted.”
Treatment for Roesener’s cancer will entail traveling to North Platte for three chemo treatments three weeks apart.
At that point, she will be re-evaluated for further treatment possibly adding radiation, as well, Elliott said.
