Contract seeks $40,000 yearly from city for dispatch service

One aspect in a proposed contract for jail services between Chase County and the city of Imperial includes paying for dispatch services by the city.
The $40,000 annual payment in the proposal drew discussion at the May 20 council meeting, as did other parts of the document.
The county commissioners approved the contract at a May 14 meeting. The council took no action on it last week.
City Attorney Josh Wendell said he wants to review the contract first, then correspond with the council.
“I anticipate some revisions,” he said.
In the contract’s section for dispatch services where the $40,000 annual payment is outlined, it says, “The county will continue to provide all usual and customary dispatch services to the city, as in the past, without further cost.”
