Community fundraiser to bring hope to one of its own

When a community comes together to support one of its own, it demonstrates the power of strong community bonds. This Saturday will be a multifaceted event to benefit a well-known member of the community of Imperial who is facing a medical challenge. The area is invited to participate in this worthy event.
The Deb Harmon Fundraiser will be held at the Imperial Eagles Club, 601 E 5th St., Imperial, to help secure expenses for her to receive specialized treatment at the prestigious MD Anderson Center in Texas, one of the leading cancer centers in the U.S. Deb has been diagnosed with stage 4 Uterine Leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer (six in one million). Deb and Dave Harmon are seeking the necessary funds to cover expenses for her treatment. (Excerpt taken from a Facebook posting.)
Schedule of Events
The first event will kick off with a live Bingo challenge beginning at 3pm with many great Bingo prizes provided.
There will be a delicious Baked Potato Bar from 5-6pm.
During the afternoon’s activities there will also be some amazing auction items offered for a Silent Auction from 3pm-7pm with a Live Auction held from 6-7pm.
Another great opportunity will be a Shot Gun Raffle Drawing.
Wrapping up the day’s fundraiser activities, beginning at 7pm, there will be live music by up-and-coming country music artist Jackson Wayne. Wayne is a recent high school graduate from Henderson, Nebraska who not only won the music division for his age group at the State Fair, but he also won the People’s Choice Award and Overall Winner.
Cost to attend the fundraiser will be $20 per person which will include dinner and the live music performance.

When individuals feel supported by their community, it fosters a sense of belonging and connection, which can be particularly important for those facing difficult circumstances.
