Community fills semi-trailer to send to flood victims

Imperial and Chase County ended up filling an entire semi last week with donations to send to northeastern Nebraska.
In the effort spearheaded by Matt Moser, Harchelroad Motors set up their 50-foot trailer in the Super Foods parking lot to collect donations for Nebraska flood victims.
Dillon Harchelroad announced on Friday that they would be transferring donations from their normal Corvette trailer to a larger semi-trailer owned by Ed Lee.
Harchelroad his wife Ashley checked on the trailer last Thursday and noticed the truck attached to it was squatting from the weight.
“The mudflaps were almost touching the ground,” Ashley said.
Dillon had multiple offers from area truck drivers to use their semi-trailers if needed.
Ed Lee of Imperial was one of those who offered, and Dillon took him up on it.
“It’s pretty cool that little area communities can come together enough to need a semi-trailer,” Dillon added.
Lee parked his trailer at the loading dock at Frenchmen Valley Produce Saturday and over 30 volunteers showed up to help transfer goods to Lee’s trailer.
“We are very proud of the way our communities came together over the past week to fill an entire semi-trailer with donations,” a statement from Harchelroad Motors said.
