Chase County Schools has secured a superintendent for the 2020-21 year.
And, he has a familiar name.
Adam Lambert, current superintendent and principal at Cody-Kilgore Unified Schools, was hired Tuesday night by the CCS board of education on an 8-0 vote.
He is the son of interim Supt. Larry Lambert, hired last October after the resignation of then-Supt. Randy Klooz.
Larry Lambert was hired to finish out the 2019-20 school year.
There was little discussion Tuesday on Adam Lambert’s hiring after the board spent about seven minutes in closed session before the vote.
The new superintendent was one of five candidates interviewed last Thursday and Friday. After the last interview on Friday, the board met in closed session for about three and a half hours.
Since 2016, Adam Lambert has been the PK-12 superintendent and principal at Cody-Kilgore, a D2 school west of Valentine.
