Christmas in August display coming to museum Sunday

Mava Jane Hurd has donated her Santa Claus collection to the Chase County Museum in Champion. Historical Society President Charley Colton stated that the display will be open for viewing from 1 to 4 Sunday, and board members will be decorating the museum with festive Christmas decorations to complement Hurd’s collection.
    Historical Society Board Member Diane Schilke added that their goal for Sunday is “brightening things with Christmas cheer.”
    Colton expressed his appreciation for every visitor who has been attending the museum presentations this summer. It has been very successful, he said.
    The following two Sundays, Aug 13 and 20, during fair week will not have any special programs at the museum, but the doors will be open during fair time for visitors to come in, Colton said.
