Country singer Kylie Frey will open for Trace Adkins this summer at the Chase County Fair.
Chase County Fair still on schedule
With school and events canceled or postponed, one yearly event in Chase County is still scheduled to take place.
The Chase County Fair, (CCF) which is set for Aug. 9-16 this year, is still on the books, according to CCF Board President Chad Oxford.
“Nothing’s changed; everything is good to go,” Oxford said. “Hopefully by the time (fair is here) everything with the virus will be sorted out.”
The board decided at the last scheduled meeting to keep everything as is, including when ads would start running.
Opener for Trace Adkins
Country singer Kylie Frey will be the opener for Trace Adkins on Aug. 15.
Frey, a native of Louisiana, was raised with country music, singing the national anthem at rodeos.
At age 15, she was named the Louisiana High School Rodeo Queen. A year later, she won the Louisiana state championship for goat-tying.
Frey’s music is inspired by Lee Ann Womack, Wynonna Judd and Shania Twain, among others.
She started writing songs at age 16 and released the acclaimed Rogers collaboration “Too Bad,” which was her second No. 1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report Charts.
Frey was one of Twain’s protégés on the inaugural season of USA Network’s “Real Country” in 2018.
Another Texas chart-topper “Ain’t Enough Beer” followed in November 2018.
She is currently promoting her latest single “One Night in Tulsa,” which is an emotive take on the desperation one feels when longing for true love.
