Champion to host 20th Annual Vision of Trees Celebration

The holiday spirit will shine bright in Champion this December as the community hosts its 20th Annual Vision of Trees event Dec. 6-7 at the Champion Community Center.
This year’s theme, “Celebrate the Season,” invites visitors to relax in a Christmas wonderland surrounded by beautifully decorated trees, live music, and festive activities for the whole family.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, featuring extended hours and a potato bake luncheon for $6 per person. On Sunday, Dec. 7, doors will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a homemade soup luncheon also for $6.
Santa Claus will make appearances both days at 1 p.m., handing out gift bags to children. Guests can enjoy free cookies, live music, and shop for wreaths, table décor, baked goods, and handmade crafts.
Entertainment includes performances by the 9th Street Performers Alumni on Saturday and Phyllis Mock on Sunday.
A raffle and silent auction will feature a quilt, handmade gifts, lighted decorations donated by the Challengers 4-H Club, and a handmade item crafted by Betty Jo Goodell. Drawings begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and participants need not be present to win.
Proceeds from the event benefit local community members in need.
Those interested in decorating a themed tree are asked to contact Jessie Schmidt at 308-882-2995 by Saturday, Nov. 29. To donate raffle or auction items, contact Emma Jenkins at 308-883-1460.
“Vision of Trees has always been a special way for our community to come together and share the joy of the season,” organizers said. “It’s a weekend filled with kindness, creativity, and Christmas spirit.”
