CCCH receives matched grant for new medical equipment

Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) fundraisers have accrued $50,000 to go toward the purchase of new equipment for the lab and surgery departments. One piece of equipment added is an endoscopy tower (esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD for short). BWTelecom owner, Randall Raile of Benkelman, center, presented CCCH with a check for $25,000 to go towards the cost of the endoscopy tower. This diagnostic equipment is the latest technology using high-depth color video. The tower is used to perform a number of functions. A gastroscope allows the doctor to view the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine. The colonoscope is used for observing the large intestine (colon) and last part of the small intestine. This equipment can also perform biopsies and remove tissue. General surgeons, Lawrence Davis, M.D. from Loveland, Colorado and Kasia Wolanin, M.D. of North Platte, will be performing the diagnostic procedures at CCCH.
