CCCH board to hear updated hospital expansion plan

The Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) board of directors will meet next week to hear an updated plan for the expansion of the hospital.
On June 7 last year, representatives from Adolfson and Peterson Construction and Davis Partnerships Architects presented the plan of a new building at a town hall meeting in Imperial.
There was positive response from the community in that meeting and one in Wauneta, but once the guaranteed cost was presented to the board, they felt it was too much to ask of taxpayers.
The guaranteed cost offered  was $24.8 million for the facility with another 20 percent for soft costs (medical equipment, beds, desks, etc.). That brought the final total to $29,764,000.
If it had been approved by the board, the plan was to seek a bond issue to provide the needed funds.
