CC 4-H, Open Class to debut new schedules at 2025 Fair

The fair schedule is significantly different this year. Fairgoers will notice changes at this year’s Chase County Fair 4-H, FFA and Open Class exhibits.
4-H activities will begin Monday, August 4 with the Dog Show at 8:30 am., as well as Poultry, Rabbit and Companion Animal Shows.
Livestock barn cleanup and static building setup will be the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 6. Shirts, back tags and stall tags will be available for pickup that evening.
As with last year, the Horse Show will be divided into two parts, starting with the in-hand events Thursday, Aug. 7 at 4 pm. Riding events will be judged Saturday, August 9 beginning at 7:30 am.
Everything will kick into high gear Monday, Aug. 11.
In a change from the past, exhibit check-in will be held on Monday. 4-H, FFA and Open Class static exhibits will be entered from 8-11 am that morningand 4-H and FFA judging will begin at 11:30 am. Open Class judging will start at 12:30 pm.
4-H and FFA livestock will also complete their weigh-in and stalling on Monday. Swine, Sheep and Goats must be in place by 8:00 am for weigh-in and ultrasound. Market Beef must be in place by 11:00 am prior to weigh-in and ultrasound.
All livestock shows will also move up a day. Tuesday August 12 will see the Swine Show begin at 8:30 am, followed by the Sheep and Goat Shows.
Wednesday, Aug. 13 will be the beef show beginning at 8:30 am. The 4-H and FFA Round Robin contest will be held Thursday, Aug. 14 at 9:00 am.
This years Livestock Auction will be Thusday starting at 5:30 pm.
Important to note; All livestock will be released Friday morning at 7 am. Friday’s schedule also includes the 4-H Rocket Launch at 8 am following barn clean-up.
Open Class, 4-H and FFA exhibits will be released at 9:30 am, Sunday, Aug. 17 with Exhibit Hall clean-up happening at 10:00 am. The Exhibit Building will be open from 12:30 to 7:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
Projects underway
Many group projects are underway for enrolled 4-H’ers. Shotgun, Archery, Horse and Rockets members are meeting, while Dog is soon to start.
4-H Clothing Day is quickly approaching. Deadline for clothing and Quilting Projects is Friday, June 20. Clothing will be judged July 9 in Grant.
For youth showing livestock, Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) course certificates need to be turned into the Chase County Extension Office by July 1.
Workshop planned
