Cancer Walk now a ‘virtual’ event

The 2020 Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH)  Cancer Walk scheduled this Saturday in Wauneta has been changed to a “virtual walk.”
“It was a tough decision, but we felt it was necessary as a safety precaution for our cancer fighters, survivors and community attendees,” said Abby Cyboron, hospital CEO.
Those who had planned to participate are asked to walk on their own Saturday.
“We encourage taking pictures of themselves in their shirts and posting them on our Facebook page using #Cancer Walk2020,” Cyboron said.
The raffle and 50/50 cash drawings will also be posted on their Facebook page and extended until Oct. 30 at 12 noon, she added.
T-shirts can be picked up Friday outside the hospital main entrance between 12 noon and 6 p.m.
The homemade cinnamon rolls, being made by M & M’s Natural JAZ, will be packaged up and delivered to those affected by cancer, said Cyboron.
For questions call Michelle Mandeville at 308-882-7310.
This event is being sponsored by the Chase County Hospital Foundation with all funds going into a cancer fund to support residents affected by cancer.
