Business decorating added to Imperial’s Christmas Festival
Decorating of Imperial businesses could take a step up in the coming days in a new event added to the community’s Christmas events.
Businesses are being encouraged to get involved in a storefront decorating competition being planned by Chris Krausnick and her committee, which is working with the Chamber on a variety of Christmas activities.
Businesses have until Dec. 4 to have their storefronts decorated. That’s the day before the Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Festival on Thursday, Dec. 5.
First and second place business winners will receive prizes.
On Dec. 5, there will be a nighttime lighted Christmas parade, a soup and pie supper, a tabletop Christmas decorating contest, visits with Santa for the youngsters and a live nativity scene.
Businesses that night are being encouraged to stay open later for holiday shoppers.
The Chamber’s scratch-off ticket promotion starts next Friday, Nov. 29, at 15 of Imperial’s businesses.
Scratch-off promo
As of this week, 15 businesses are planning to participate in the Chamber’s scratch-off ticket promo.
A total of $3,000 in chamber bucks will be awarded in the scratch-off event, Chamber President Jana Pribbeno said. Shoppers in those 15 participating businesses have the chance to win $40, $20, $10 or $5 if they receive one of the lucky tickets.
And, they’ll be able to collect the chamber bucks right away in that business, she noted.
Shoppers will have a better than one-in-four chance to win chamber bucks when receiving a ticket.
