Blood drive scheduled in January at CCS

January is National Blood Donor Month, the perfect time to give blood and help save lives.
On Thursday, Jan. 23, the American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at Chase County Schools (CCS) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.
The goal is to collect 80 units of blood, said Angie Paisley, CCS blood drive coordinator.
Extreme winter weather in some parts of the country and seasonal illnesses often make it difficult for the American Red Cross to maintain a sufficient blood supply at this time of year.
“Healthy individuals are urged to give now and be the lifeline patients need,” said a Red Cross spokesman.
To make an appointment, contact Paisley at 308-882-4228.
Donors can save time with RapidPass.
Complete your pre-donation reading and health history at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or with the Blood Donor App before your appointment, said Paisley.
For detailed donor eligibility questions, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org.
As always, walk-ins are welcome, she said.
Encourage friends and family who have never donated blood to give at the blood drive and help sustain the blood supply.
