Bingo players at fair help support pantry

Those who played Lions bingo at this year’s Chase County Fair helped support the Chase County Food Pantry. Lions Club President Sheryl Curtis announced prior to the four days of bingo Aug. 14-17 that the first 4,000 quarters received would be earmarked for the food pantry. Pantry board members use cash donations to purchase items not usually donated but needed, such as meat, paper goods and other food items as they get low. The Lions Club had its best year on record for gross receipts at the 2019 bingo operation.
