Arts council hosting monthly painting party

The newly revamped Chase County Arts Council is working toward bringing future events to the community. Two of those goals are to provide musical performances and possibly an art camp down the road.
The Arts Council is currently hosting monthly painting parties to raise funds to further support the arts, according to Arts Council President Sara Stretesky.
The next painting party is scheduled for this Friday at 5:55 p.m. at Broken Arrow Cellars. The cost is $25 per person and all art supplies are provided. Stretesky will be the instructor for the class.
There is a limit of 30 people for the painting party. Stretesky requests that anyone planning to attend contact her by Friday morning so she can have enough canvases available.
She noted some of the paintings completed in the class are being displayed at the Chase County Family Clinic.
“The Arts Council is always looking for active and supporting members,” said Stretesky.
If anyone is interested in joining the Arts Council, they meet the first Thursday of every month at Broken Arrow Cellars from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., she added.
If interested in attending the painting party or joining the council, contact Stretesky at 308-883-1505.
