Another Scott Moser settlement offer tabled

Although he’s been gone from the community for more than a year, Scott Moser’s name continues to come up.
The most recent discussion came at the May 6 Imperial city council meeting last week, when Moser, who now lives in Texas, sent another settlement offer to the city through his attorney.
After a 45-minute closed session, Moser’s $40,000 offer, about 25% of what is owed, was tabled on a 3-0 council vote.
The offer came with payment by June 30 this year, said City Attorney Josh Wendell, “as full settlement for anything and everything.”
The city is seeking payment of a $161,450 outstanding bill Moser owes on a price discounted piece of ground he built an office and shop on in the city’s Cornerstone property.
His business was known as Scott’s Pump Service. The building along Highway 61 burned in a February 2017 fire, and was totalled.
A new 7,200 square foot building was constructed in its place, and continues to be for sale.
