Accident results in injuries, citation

The Imperial Police Department (IPD) responded to a accident with injury near the 1800 block of Grant Street on Dec. 30.
The driver of a Chevy Silverado was traveling east on 738a Avenue, IPD Sergeant Chad Ostmeyer said.
“The vehicle failed to stop at the intersection,” he added.
The pickup struck the ditch on the east side of Grant Street. The juvenile male driver was injured during the accident.
The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries, Ostmeyer said.
He was treated by Imperial EMS and released to a parent.  
The vehicle was totaled and the driver was issued a citation for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.
Also on the scene were Imperial EMS, Imperial Volunteer Fire Department and the Chase County Sheriff’s Office.
