Accident on Dundy County line sends one to hospital

Authorities responded to a two-vehicle accident near the Dundy County line last Thursday.
At approximately 8:44 a.m., Chase County Sheriff’s Office, Imperial EMS and the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department (IVFD) were dispatched south of Enders Lake on Highway 61 and Road 727.
A pickup and trailer owned by SBT Inc. of Ogallala driven by Tony Cochran of Imperial was traveling southbound on Highway 61.
The other vehicle, a boom truck owned by Southwest Public Power District (SWPPD) and driven by Ryan Burton of Palisade was traveling west on Road 727.
At the intersection of Highway 61 and Road 727, the SWPPD truck failed to yield the right of way of the SBT Inc. vehicle and the SWPPD vehicle collided at the intersection.
Cochran was transported to the Chase County Community Hospital with minor injuries.
Burton was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
