4-H Clothing, Quilt Quest entries due June 20

    It may seem like the 2025 Chase County Fair is still months away, but 4-Hers are busy preparing.
    The first 4-H contest of summer will be for 4-H Clothing and Quilt Quest. Entries are due to the Chase County Extension Office by 4 pm, June 20. $-Hers can contact the Extension Office by calling 882-4731 or visiting https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/perkins-chase/4-h/4-h-static-project... for more information.
    Judging day will be July 9. This year’s judging day will be in Grant at the Perkins County Extension Office starting at 9 am.
    Clothing and Quilt Quest cover a broad variety of classes falling under the Family and Consumer Science department. Entries range from clothing and fiber arts, including General Clothing, STEAM Clothing, Knitting, Crochet and Weaving, to quilting, including quilt making, designs other than fabric and barn quilts.
    Other scheduled contests to be held prior to the fair include, Shotgun/Trap, July 19 and Archery, August 2 as well as the Dog, Poultry, Rabbit and Companion Animal Shows, Monday, August 4.
    The Horse show will be held in two parts starting with the in-hand show, Thursday, August 7 and wrapping up with the riding events Saturday, August 9.
    4-H, FFA and Open Class entry day for this year’s Chase County Fair will be a day earlier than in the past. Projects, both static and livestock, will be checked in at the fairgrounds Monday, August 11.
    The Swine, Sheep and Goat shows will be Tuesday, August 12. The Beef Show will be Wednesday, August 13 and thew Round Robin Contest and Livestock Auction will be Thursday, August 14. All livestock entries will be dismissed the morning of Friday, August 15.
