12th Street Fence Project completed

The 12th Street Fence Project, located on the Prottsman property at 1145 Wellington St., is now complete and ready to be voted on. The eight-section fence runs parallel to 12th street across from Imperial Super Foods. Eight different groups/individuals painted a mural on each section of the fence. The community can now vote for their favorite mural by contributing any amount of money they wish toward the mural of their choice. Voting can be done at the fence in a secured box or taken to the Imperial Credit Union. Deadline for voting is Sept. 30. At that time, all funds contributed to each mural will go to each artist(s), and the mural with the highest donated amount will receive an additional $1,000 in prize money. Each mural is numbered 1 through 8 from left to right at the fence. Mural number 7, S.C.O.R.E. Camp, was intended to simply acknowledge the program and say thank you to the community, said Charlesa Kline, S.C.O.R.E. co-coordinator. The artist wishes to remain anonymous and the “S.C.O.R.E.” mural will not be part of the voting. (Johnson Publications photos)
