WP, CCS well represented at CSO basketball game

The girls’ and boys’ teams at Cambridge’s annual CSO All-Star basketball games played vastly different games. But they did have one thing in common, the West squads, which included athletes from Chase County and Wauneta-Palisade, lost both games.
Scores were close in both games, but the girls’ game was competitive on both ends while the boys’ high-flying contest saw little defense in a 98-96 East win.
The East won the girls’ game 62-56. Gothenburg’s Annika Harm and Maywood/Hayes Center’s Jaycee Widener were MVPs of their respective teams. WP’s Zoey Boos, Haylee Sandman and Payton Yearous, plus Chase County’s Alexis Richmond played for the West team.
Southern Valley’s Carter Bose and North Platte St. Pat’s Corby Condon were named MVPs of boys’ teams. On the West team were Cedric Maxwell and Mason Nordhausen representing CCS and WP’s Braxton McKinney. WP’s Rod Gaston served as assistant coach.
