Peewee tourney begins next week

Imperial’s peewee teams have been seeing a lot of each other, including a Imperial 1 and Imperial 3 matchup last week and an Imperial 1 and Imperial 2 contest Wednesday.
After a 10-9 win over Ogallala 1 and a 14-6 win over Ogallala 2 two weeks ago, Imperial 1 picked up a 31-0 three-inning win over Imperial 3 Friday.
Imperial 3 advanced base runners to third in each inning but was never able to bring anyone home.
Leadoff batter Noah Rau scored Imperial 1’s only first-inning run. The team scored seven in the second inning, before batting around three times in the third inning and scoring 23 runs.
It was Imperial 3’s second game of the week after a 2-21 loss Wednesday to Ogallala 1 in four innings.
Ogallala 1 scored one run in the first inning before Imperial 3 stranded its leadoff hitter at third.
Ogallala 1 plated six runs to start the second inning. Imperial 3 got itself on the board with runs by Max Bernard and Rodrigo Robles, but, once more, left a runner on third.
Imperial 3 didn’t have an answer for Ogallala 1’s one third inning run.
Trailing 2-8, Imperial 3 gave up 13 runs in the fourth inning while not bringing anyone home.
Imperial 2’s only game of the week was an 18-1 win at Ogallala 2 Wednesday.
Imperial 2 got off on the right foot with five runs in the first inning. Three of its first four hitters singled, followed by three-straight walks. One walk allowed Ogallala 2 to score its only run of the game in the bottom of the inning, but Imperial 2 forced a runner to be left stranded on third.
Strong offense extended Imperial 2’s lead in the second inning. Six singles and a double scored eight more runs. The inning ended with the bases loaded for Ogallala 2.
Imperial 2 wrapped up the win in three innings with five more runs to start the third. Bats stayed hot with four singles, two doubles and a triple.
Braxton Chubb and Lukas Fries walked six and struck out four.
Imperial 2 out hit Ogallala 2 17-4. Destry Oxford was 4-4. Tate Teply went 3-3.
