Peewee season nears end; three regular season nights left

The end of the regular season is in sight for Imperial’s three peewee teams.
Imperial 2’s June 14 game against Hershey got off to a rough start for Imperial 2.
Hershey scored three in the first inning and had runners on third and second before a strikeout sent Hershey to the bench.
Unable to score in the first, Imperial 2 gave up four hits and a walk in the top of the second inning, leading to three Hershey runs. Those would be Hershey’s final runs of the game.
Trailing 0-6, Imperial 2 found its offense in the bottom of the second inning. Rallying with two out, five straight batters reached base and four runners scored.
Hershey stranded one runner in the third inning, before Imperial 2 picked up their bats. The home team batted around and scored five runs in the bottom half of the third to take a 9-6 lead.
After going scoreless in the fourth inning, Imperial 2 increased its lead to 12-6 with three runs in the fifth.
Evan O’Neil, Conner Stromberger and Lukas Fries combined to give up six hits, seven walks and strike out 11.

Imperial 2 got off to a good start, sitting down Ogallala 1’s first three batters.
Offensively, Hammerlun singled and Destry Oxford walked before both came around to score, but Imperial 2 left the bases loaded at the end of the inning.
Ogallala took the lead with a three-run second inning, thanks to three singles and a walk.
