Imperial scheduled for Husker staff visit

Imperial is one of 20 towns across Nebraska scheduled for a visit from Husker staff and coaches June 16 as part of Husker Blitz.
Sponsored by First National Bank of Omaha, other towns that are part of Husker Blitz are Alliance, Broken Bow, Chadron, Columbus, David City, Fremont, Grand Island, Hastings, Holdrege, Kearney, Lexington, Loup City, Norfolk, North Platte, Ogallala, Scottsbluff, South Sioux City, Valentine and West Point.
Ten groups of Husker coaches, plus Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos will each take two sites across the state. One stop is planned for mid-day and one for the late afternoon.
All events are free to the public.
More information concerning which coaches will be at specific sites will be released soon.
Imperial was part of the first Husker Blitz, held in 2019. Running backs coach Ryan Held and quarterbacks coach Mario Verducci were staff members in town.
No tour was held in 2020 due to COVID-19.
“It has been far too long since we have been able to travel the state for an event like the Big Red Blitz,” Moos said.
“Our coaches and staff look forward to this exciting opportunity to visit all parts of the state and spend time with our great fans. It is memorable to visit various towns and see the pride our people have in their hometowns, the state of Nebraska and the Huskers,” he said.
