WP graduates 16 Saturday

A little word association can go a long ways.
Commencement speaker Rick Einspahr used the letters WPHS to give the 16 Wauneta-Palisade graduates a way to remember their roots and be successful as they move on in life. He suggested several words for each letter, but choose to emphasize wisdom for W, power for P, hope for H and strength for S.
While larger cities can take the area’s best and brightest because of their valued work ethics, Einspahr encouraged graduates not to forget their roots.
Lilith Miner was valedictorian for the class and Haylee Sandman salutatorian. Both spoke during the ceremony. Both expressed thanks for the support received from the school and community.
Graduates presented flowers to family and friends before the presentation of diplomas by school board members Allison Sandman, Marty Wheeler and Aaron McKinney. Each was a parent of a graduate.
The class of 2021 also includes Cory Barrett, Olivia Behrends, Kendra Bley, Zoey Boos, Faith Burton, Devin Carl, Hector Caro, Braxton McKinney, Isaiah Roe, Destany Simpson, Anthony Sramek, Haley Walker, Maycee Wheeler and Payton Yearous.
The class flower was a white gerbera daisy and colors were white and navy.
The class quote came from D. Seuss, “I’ve heard there are troubles of more than one kind; some come from ahead, some come from behind. But I’ve brought a big bat. I’m all ready, you see; now my troubles are going to have troubles with me.”
