WP FFA brings home convention ribbons

Wauneta-Palisade FFA collected eight individual ribbons and one team ribbon from this year’s state competitions.
With three welders placing, the welding team placed 24th and earned a red.
Anthony Sramek ranked 16 out of 60 MIG welders and took a blue ribbon.
Trace Bley in TIG and Garrett Hanna in OXY earned white ribbons. Derik Kennicutt rounded out the team in ARC welding.
Faith Burton led the vet science team with a blue ribbon after finishing 32nd out of 144. Peyton Vrbas earned a white ribbon. Mandy Sandoval and Ryleigh McCrumb also competed for WP.
In natural resources Kyle Jutten finished 116th out of 326 and brought home a red. Burton, Chloe Stehno and Vrbas also competed.
Peyton Cox was the top finisher in nursery and landscape with a white ribbon. Chase Bryant was two points away from a white ribbon. GraCee Goings and Aidan Kennicutt were other team members.
Mandy Sandoval competed in creed speaking March 25 and advanced to the finals, but advisor Teresa Hayes said WP didn’t know the final results.
The teams competed virtually in late March and the convention was held April 7-9.
