Watch out for the PINK; keep flamingos off lawn

Following a strong sports year for Chase County Schools, and with COVID-19 in the shadows, the CCS Cheer Squad for the 2021-22 school year has some big plans in store, said head cheer coach Amanda Kimble.
“One of the fundraisers to get the ball rolling consists of some community fun in PINK,” she said.
Typically as a normal lawn ornament, but not so typical in quantity, are pink flamingos soon to be flocking around town.
Fundraiser costs are $10 for flamingo removal (before 24 hours), $20 to pass to a friend and $30 for “Flock” protection.
The proceeds go to the CCS Cheer Squad which helps pay for camps and a new Longhorn mascot.
For removal or rehoming, call or text Coach Kimble at 308-883-0622.
Other summer fundraisers
The cheer squad will be selling breakfast burritos on Broadway in front of Uptown Electronics during the morning of the Community-Wide Garage Sale, June 19, said Kimble.
“We will also be holding our free annual community carwash Saturday, July 17, at the FVC wash bays on Broadway,” she added.
A free-will donation will be taken.
Coaches for the cheer squad are Amanda Kimble, Abigail Almanza and Ayla Smith.
