CCS, WP schools to present spring music concerts

There’s music in the air!
Spring has sprung and school music students in Chase County will be presenting instrumental and vocal concerts for the public.
Chase County Schools (CCS) has scheduled three concerts this month directed by music instructors Agnes Strand and Jodie Liess.
Next Tuesday, beginning at 7 p.m., a music concert will be kicked off with the Simply Jazz Band followed by the high school concert band.
The junior high choir will then perform followed by the high school choir to include some of their contest pieces.
Seniors will also be recognized during the evening, said Liess.
On Friday, May 14, beginning at 7 p.m., the 9th St. Singers end-of-year show choir concert will entertain the audience.
“We will be performing our competition show as well as a few other songs, including some members singing solos and/or duets,” Liess said.
On Monday, May 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the CCS Longhorn gym, there will be a K-4 vocal concert.
During the “Smokin’ on Broadway” event on June 26, the Imperial Lions Club has invited the 7-12 CCS band students to perform, as well.
Wauneta-Palisade concerts
The end of year music concerts have been scheduled for two different dates and locations for WP school students.
A band and vocal concert for grades 6-12 will be held at the Wauneta school’s attendance center this Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
An instrumental and vocal concert for grades 4-5 will be held Thursday, May 13, at 2 p.m. CT in the Palisade school’s attendance center.
