The trick-shooting Gould Brothers will be the featured attraction at the 100th birthday party celebration of the Game & Parks at the Enders State Recreation Area June 5.

Jam-packed day planned at Enders Lake for G&P 100th birthday

Plans for a big birthday bash at Enders Lake for the Nebraska Game & Parks 100th birthday are falling into place for the June 5 event.
Superintendent Beau Licking, and his assistant Dayna Scherbarth have put together a jam-packed line-up of activities for the celebration.
Licking, who is superintendent for both the Enders State Recreation Area and Rock Creek State Recreation Area, said both parks are represented at the event but all activities will be held at Enders Lake.
Scherbarth said they have gotten lots of great input from the public on the type of events for the day.
One suggestion led to what is being billed as the main event—an afternoon appearance of the Gould Brothers, known for their trick shooting exhibitions.
The duo has been featured on outdoor sports shows, along with a big presence on You Tube.
The band Shooter Jaxx from Benkelman will cap off the day’s events.
The day will kick off with a 5K run.
Throughout the day, people of all ages will want to visit several Game & Parks traveling exhibits including a mammal display and activity trailer.
There will also be a history tent, a G&P expo and kayaking.
Other events planned during the day include a big rig semi truck show, a tractor show including tractors of all vintages from antique to modern and a car show being headed up by the CarNutz Club.
A smoke-off will be held throughout the day, leading to an evening barbecue feed.
Licking said park representatives from G&P’s Lincoln office are also expected for the event.
The pair also expressed their appreciation for all the people and entities who have gotten behind the event with financial contributions.
They said it would not be possible to put on the event without the support of these sponsors.
They continue to add sponsors and donors. Sponsorships begin at just $50.
Anyone who wants to be a part of the event can contact them. Scherbarth added they have registration forms available for the truck and tractor shows.
For more information on the event, contact them at the Enders office, 308-394-5118.
