The Chase County Quiz Bowl team finished the ESU 15 Quiz Bowl with a 5-2 record and second place finish, good enough to qualify the Longhorns for State Quiz Bowl.

Chase County Speech performers Andrew Wiest, George Colton, Kevin Dannatt and Zach Herbert finished the speech season last Thursday in Kearney at the Class C1 State Speech Meet.

Track season opened last Friday at the Perkins County Pre-Season Meet. Above Kylee Wiest soars through the air, recording a personal best jump of 30’ 6” in the triple jump, finishing in sixth place. The Lady Longhorns won the meet, scoring more than twice the points of second place, Perkins County.

    It was not an official track meet on Friday, March 22, but the Lady Longhorns won the meet in a big way.

    Every team needs a place to start and for the Wauneta-Palisade track team that place was the Perkins County Pre-Season Meet Friday in Grant.
