Imperial will soon be hearing the sounds of baseball. Earlier this month, Gov. Pete Ricketts okayed the start of baseball and softball with first games on June 18. Last year, above, Legion Coach Bruce Peterson visits with members of his baseball team in a game against Ogallala.

    In three weeks, the first Legion baseball games will be underway.

    It’s a new year for a lot of activities, and the Cornhusker State Games Torch Run is one of them—this year it’s a “virtual” run.

    June 1 is another target date set by Gov. Pete Ricketts for more easing of state COVID-19 regulations.
