Zoom town hall meetings set on Black Hills rate increase

The Nebraska Public Service Commission will hold three virtual town hall meetings via Zoom this month regarding a rate case filed by Black Hills Energy that will increase customer costs.
Imperial’s natural gas needs are serviced by Black Hills Energy based in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Black Hills filed a request with the commission to recover cost increases and the more than $450.7 million investment made in its natural gas system since its last rate review nearly a decade ago.
Black Hills projects the proposed rate case would increase a typical residential customers’ bill by $4.46 per month based on an average monthly use of 58 therms.
The town hall meeting dates are:
    • Sept. 22, 10 a.m. CT
    • Sept. 22, 7 p.m. CT
    • Sept. 24, 2:30 p.m. CT
Each meeting is scheduled to last two hours. The commission will link each Zoom meeting on its website: psc.nebraska.gov/natural-gas/ town-hall-information.
Customers can also turn in town hall questions through a link on the commission’s website.
