Dr. Megan O’Callaghan meets with a patient during her second week at Veterinary Services in Imperial.

Vet Services adds new doctor to staff

Veterinary Services added a new practitioner to their staff.
Dr. Megan O’Callaghan’s first day was June 1.
“I came (to Imperial) for my preceptorship last year during my clinical year and fell in love with it,” she said.
O’Callaghan is a native of Hastings and received her undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).
She also holds an MBA from UNL.
O’Callaghan attended veterinary school at Iowa State University, graduating in May.
While she will see all types of animals at Vet Services, her specialty is large animals such as cattle and horses.
“I always wanted to return to a rural area,” O’Callaghan said. “It just kind of worked out.”
In her free time, O’Callaghan enjoys furniture restoration, spending time at the lake with family and her boyfriend, Justin, and her two dogs, Sam and Doc.
Justin, also from the Hastings area, is the yearling manager for rancher Steve Krug in Dundy County.
