Students garner multiple awards in State Fair’s education division

Students at Chase County Schools again did quite well in the education division at the 2020 Nebraska State Fair.
The competition is open to all students in grades K-12 in Nebraska. Students do not have to qualify at the local level to participate.
The display of the entries looked a little different this year. It was set up in the Nebraska Quilt Room of the Pinnacle Bank Expo Building on the state fairgrounds.
Entry numbers were down a little but the state fair board and Bill Ogg, the new fair director, were impressed with the number of entries and quality.
In all, there were about 1,025 entries. With no gate admittance this year, there was no funding for ribbons, awards or scholarships. Ribbons and rosettes from the previous year were awarded.
The NebraskaLand Foundation saw the importance of recognizing the state’s students and provided the trophies, medallions, T-shirts and is sponsoring the Statehood Day celebration in March, when awards will be given.
Here are CCS placings in the State Fair’s education division.
