Safety Day postponed

Chase County Safety Day, planned for April 28 at the Chase County Fairgrounds, will be rescheduled with area schools and all Chase County children in grades K-6.

Coordinator Chris Tomky said it’s being postponed due to the coronavirus and schools in Chase County out of session.

She said planning for the day of fun and hands-on learning had been on track with a generous $4,000 donation from the Imperial Community Foundation and multiple businesses along with private donors.

The products purchased have been stored and will remain unboxed, she said.

“The Chase County Safety Day event may be postponed but not forgotten,” she said.

Parents should watch for a new date and registration form, she said. Volunteers should keep the event in mind and prepare for a day filled with learning. The day’s focus is to be safe around rural agricultural living, she said.
