Myrtle Health, LLC moves to new Broadway location
Deaun Carpenter is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and a Direct Primary Care Provider (DCP) who opened Myrtle Health, LLC medical practice in February of last year.
Carpenter rented office space from Koch Chiropractic in Imperial to begin taking patients.
In May, Carpenter purchased the building previously occupied by Prairie Dental Center. A week ago, she moved her practice to the new location at 623 Broadway in Imperial where she is currently seeing patients.
Carpenter’s practice caters primarily to those patients who do not have medical insurance.
“My goal is to help people who don’t have insurance because not everyone has the luxury of health care,” Carpenter said in an earlier article.
Due to the number of people without health insurance, the DCP model has been increasing and expanding over the last 10 years, she explained. In this way, she is able to provide another option to non-insured patients with non-emergency medical needs, she said.
“Any emergency cases will be referred to a medical doctor or the Emergency Room,” she said.
She can provide lab work in-house at the new office location, she said, and draw blood for health fair labs, as well.
As a family nurse practitioner, Carpenter is a registered nurse and can diagnose illnesses, conduct exams and prescribe medication.
As a licensed NP, she is qualified to be the sole health care provider within her own practice.
Carpenter obtained her nursing degree in 1995. She then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and received her license as a NP in 2011.
