MorningStar Cafe plans December opening at new location on 12th Street

    MorningStar Café has been serving homemade breakfast and brunch at the Imperial Sale Barn location for almost four years.
    Cindy and Jeff Castor are owners of the cafe, operating from  6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. They have expanded hours over lunchtime on sale days.
    The Castors purchased the building at 140 E. 12th Street that housed Tequila’s Mexican Grill.
    “We will be closing on the purchase today (Thursday) and begin renovations soon,” Cindy Castor said.
    They have simply outgrown their present location, she said.
    “At the moment there’s a lot to do. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. We want to provide the community with another option for good food and at-your-table service. It makes a big difference in the dining experience,” Castor said.
    She said community support has been fantastic, and it deserves another restaurant choice.
    Dec. 10 is the target date to open at the new location, she said.
    For the moment, hours of operation at the new location will expand from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, she said.
    “Breakfast items will stay pretty much the same,” she said. “The lunch menu will expand to include some items not currently being served.”
