Thomas Bainter of Seward is currently on rotation at Chase County Community Hospital and Clinics. His rotation here will come to an end the second week of December.
Bainter is a third year student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha. He has one more year to complete before beginning his residency.
He said he was in his junior year of college pursuing an engineering degree when he made the decision to go into medicine.
“I have always been interested in mental health and getting to know people on a one-on-one basis,” he said.
He had such a keen interest in a people-oriented career that medicine became a strong pull for him.
