Eric Haider, administrator of Imperial Manor Parkview Heights, was a guest speaker at the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living’s 70th annual convention earlier this month in Orlando, Florida.
Haider, who spoke Oct. 16, is a nationally recognized speaker who has spoken at various conventions in the U.S. and abroad to motivate and inspire healthcare experts to improve the quality of care and quality of life for residents in long-term care.
“A nursing home is not a place where people go to die. It is a place where people go to live and enjoy the rest of their life,” he said.
At this year’s convention, his topic was “Solutions for Staffing Problems.”
“More and more baby boomers are retiring, creating a growing problem of a staffing shortage in our country,” Haider said.
As one of the session speakers, he addressed ways to solve staffing problems, have more staff than needed and eliminating the need to use agency staff in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, therefore strengthening a facility’s bottom line.
Haider shared a step by step implementation system to hire and improve staff retention.
He explained how to hire more good staff by using innovative and unique techniques that he created that are result-oriented and proven to produce results.
“Traditions are changing in long-term care,” he said.
