Hospital closer to equipment purchase goal with Monsanto $2,500 donation

A Chase County farmer has once again been chosen for a $2,500 donation from the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program sponsored by Monsanto.
Clinton Nordhausen of Imperial was this year’s selection in Chase County for the donation, which throughout the  U.S., will award $3.2 million to rural communities this year.
He chose the Chase County Hospital Foundation as his recipient of the funds.
According to Monsanto officials, “Farmers know best where a contribution will make the biggest impact in their communities.
“That’s why we’ve made the Grow Communities enrollment process simple.”
Each August, the Monsanto’s Grow Communities program offers eligible farms the opportunity to enroll for a chance to win a $2,500 donation to their favorite eligible nonprofit organization.
Nordhausen said he received a card in the mail last fall and sent it in. He’s one of several in the county to be chosen as a Grow Communities donation recipient in recent years.
Hospital CEO Steve Lewis said the funds will be used toward new lab and surgery equipment, which is now about $37,000 away from its goal. Deadline to meet the goal for matching funds is the end of 2018.
