Harchelroad Motors receives monthly Chamber recognition

Harchelroad Chevrolet Company in Wauneta was opened by Harvey Harchelroad in 1941 as a six-man shop.
Harvey’s son, Gene, took over in 1952. Gene was eventually honored as a 50-year dealer in 2002.
Gene then passed the reins to his sons Sid and Brian.
Sid opened the Imperial dealership and full-service body shop in 1991, with Brian running the Wauneta location.
Harchelroad Motors became a fourth-generation dealership with the addition of Sid’s son, Dillon, in 2009. Dalton Harchelroad, the next member of the fourth generation, is currently enrolled at UNL. He is majoring in business with and emphasis in sales and is looking forward to joining the Harchelroad Motors team after completing his bachelor’s degree.
They opened a collision and restoration center on Highway 6 in 2013, and moved to their current dealership location at 530 East Highway 6 in Imperial in 2015.
“Our focus on providing the community with great experiences for sales, service, parts, collision and ag has not changed,” Dillon said. “We are excited to have opportunities interact with as many people as possible both in our community and the surrounding areas.”
After the deaths of both Sid Harchelroad and Brian Harchelroad, Dillon has assumed the role of general manager in both Imperial and Wauneta.
“We are blessed to have excellent team members and managers at both locations. It is the people who work with us that make this business special,” Dillon said.
Michelle Harchelroad, Brian’s wife, has begun working in Wauneta helping with daily operations.
The six-person shop has grown to employ 43 people between the Imperial and Wauneta locations. It has gone from a simple automobile dealership to a business that does business across the United States and many international locations.
