Final ECAP meeting next Tuesday will set action plan

Tuesday will mark the fourth and final in a series of meetings intended to gather input for a community assessment on economic growth in Imperial.
Next week’s 6 p.m. meeting in the city gym is set to determine an “action plan” based on information gathered at three previous meetings and from a community survey.
Extension Educator Ben Dutton of McCook has been moderating the Entrepreneurial Community Activation Process (ECAP) since the kickoff meeting March 21.
The program is run by the state’s Extension Service with funding from the Rural Futures Institute at the University of Nebraska.
The program assists communities assess and build economic growth opportunities by understanding its strengths, unique characteristics and assets.
The goal is to identify future needs and opportunities and develop actionable plans from within the community itself.
Since the kickoff meeting, two other sessions have been held when community survey results were reviewed and priorities set.
The public is invited to Tuesday’s meeting, even if they have not been involved in the others.
