Enders Lake Golf Course sold to Imperial couple
The Enders Lake Golf Course is under new ownership.
Former owner Donna Werkele said the new owners, Trevor and Kari Amen of Imperial, took possession of the operation Saturday morning.
Werkele, who has worked at the course for 33 years and bought it in 1994, said she sold it because she wanted to retire.
Trevor Amen, who spent most of his career as an agricultural economist in the animal protein industry, said, “This is a new venture for us. We’re avid golfers. We grew up in northwestern Colorado. We were looking for an opportunity to get back out in rural America and came across the golf course and decided to make it happen.”
Amen said no changes are planned for the operation at the current time. Werkele and the staff will stay on for at least the rest of this season and golfers and diners shouldn’t really notice any difference.
“Our goal is to maintain the golfing experience and the dining experience that the community is used to,” he said.
