Black Hills Energy updating service lines in Chase County

Black Hills Energy workers have been seen working in between Imperial and Enders.
Melissa Garcia, Business Relations Representative with Black Hills, said the work being done is part of their integrity project.
“So what we are doing is just updating our older lines,” Garcia said.
Black Hills is simply replacing the old lines with new ones.
“It’s pretty basic,” Garcia added.
This year across Nebraska, Black Hills is updating about 200 miles of lines.
“We need to make sure that (the lines) are safe and reliable and it’s just kind of standard procedure for us,” Garcia said.
While Black Hills serves 319 communities across Nebraska, their corporate headquarters is in Rapid City, South Dakota.
There is a local office in Imperial, and the main Nebraska location is in Lincoln.
