Newspaper promotes special segments of our community

It’s appropriate to salute our producers who feed the world.

You may have noticed there have been a few more “special sections” included in The Imperial Republican recently. Those are the multi-paged tabloids that are “stuffed” into the regular newspaper each week with locally written stories and photographs targeting a special segment of our community.
This week, you will find one that highlights the grain industry in southwest Nebraska and northeast Colorado. That’s timely with National Ag Week coming in March.
Anyone living in this community for very long will realize the importance of agriculture, and not only to the economy. It represents a way of life for many of our friends and neighbors here, one that includes hard work but also a feeling of accomplishment in doing their part to feed the world.
Check out the “Salute to Grain” special section included this week. In it, you’ll find a number of grain-related stories about your neighbors and friends in the community, as well as important facts about the grain industry. Writers from the Johnson Publications newspaper contributed to its content.
Working on these special sections lets our reporters zero in on some specific topics a little more. And, there are more coming.
Future special sections will highlight our mature population age 55 and older, high school graduates, the beef industry, home improvement, back-to-school, weather preparedness, hunting and weddings.
But this week, we zero in on the grain industry. As Ag Week approaches, it’s appropriate to salute our producers for the work they do to feed the world.
