In a six-game sweep, the Imperial girls’ seventh grade basketball team won its division at last weekend’s youth tournament in Ogallala. On Saturday, Imperial defeated Hyannis 21-16, the North Platte Rebels 17-10 and Ogallala 28-16. On Sunday, Imperial went in as the #2 seed and first defeated seventh seed Perkins County, 18-2. They met Ogallala next, defeating them a second time, 24-18. That advanced Imperial to the finals, where they met North Platte Rebels again, who had earlier knocked off the #1 seed from Gering. Imperial claimed the championship with a 33-21 victory. Lady Longhorns head to subdistricts as top seed
