Varsity ups record to 11-8 after three match wins

    Chase County put three in the win column last week after finishing a busy week at a pair of varsity volleyball triangulars.
    That upped their season record to 11-8 with another full week ahead.
    After traveling to North Platte Tuesday for another triangular, the Lady ‘Horns will host Perkins County tonight (Thursday) in their final home action of the season.
    Coach Jodie Schuller said Thursday will be a special day for her team, as they’ll celebrate of life of Haisley Anne Schilke, as well as hold Parents Night activities.
    Haisley, who died this summer, was the infant sister of sophomore team member Kora Weiss. Schuller said the girls will wear t-shirts in her memory to school Thursday and also during warm-ups that night.
    Parents Night activities will be held between the JV and varsity games with Perkins County. The JVs are set to play at 5:30 p.m.
    On Tuesday, Chase County is back on the road for the long trip to Kimball. Action including C, JV and varsity there kicks off at 5 p.m.
    After that, the varsity will have a break until Saturday, Oct. 13, when the SPVA Tournament is set for Grant.
    Tournament seeding was to be done Wednesday this week, Schuller said.
Subdistricts at Brady
    Chase County will play its subdistrict matches in Brady this year, which was announced this week as site for the C1-11 tournament Oct. 29-30.
    Other teams in the C1-11 subdistrict are Cozad, Gothenburg, Hershey and Ogallala.
Wins at home triangular
    The Lady Longhorns tallied two wins at their home triangular last Thursday, toppling both Sutherland and Maxwell.
