Homecoming candidates named; school enjoys Disney-themed days

Signs are up downtown, the street in front of Chase County Schools is chalked up and candidates are named, all in celebration of Homecoming events this week. The six seniors above were chosen by fellow students as their candidates for Homecoming royalty, from left, Macy Coleman, Parker Dillan, Adelaide Maxwell, Evan Fisher, Allison Owings and Scott Wheeler. The king and queen will be announced at halftime of Friday’s home football game against Chadron. Preceding that earlier Friday will be a 2 p.m. pep rally in the Longhorn gym. Below, English/Journalism teacher Renae Bottom was among the staff and students getting into the daily dress-up days for Tuesday’s “Sleeping Beauties” theme. Monday’s theme was Monsters University, Wednesday featured Disney character dress-up day in purple, while Thursday is Ohana day with a Hawaiian theme. Friday will conclude with Orange and Black Day.
