You’re seeing pink for important reason

Pink is not really a fall color, but we see it a lot in October, from the gear worn by professional athletes to healthcare workers and more. October is nationally observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and pink is its well-known color of significance.
All of us probably have a relative we love or a good friend who’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. That shouldn’t be surprising since 1 in 8 U.S. females will get breast cancer. While your risk is higher if you have a mother, sister or daughter with breast cancer, most females diagnosed don’t have any family history.
Getting annual mammograms is the best way to catch breast cancer early. Such preventative measures are true in helping prevent the spread of most serious health conditions. With mammograms, most insurance and Medicare cover annual exams, and if yours does not, there are many other resources, local and state, that offer funding to get that important screening.
Honor those who continue to fight breast cancer and those who’ve lost the battle. Wear pink this month!
